TRA Mission Statement
The Texas Rehabilitation Association is a 501 C-3 nonprofit organization of people who are dedicated to:
promoting to the public the profession of rehabilitation
enhancing opportunities for Texans with disabilities
stimulating a rehabilitation environment
promoting quality rehabilitation services by organizations and
individuals.
Our members include public and private rehabilitation counselors, rehabilitation administrators, rehabilitation educators, social workers, job placement specialists, consultants, qualified rehabilitation professionals (QRP), medical professionals (physical therapy, speech, occupational therapy), community rehabilitation professionals (CRP), and others involved in the provision and/or advocacy of services or programs for people with disabilities.
The Texas Rehabilitation Association (TRA) provides training with continuing education credits, facilitates networking among professionals, and encourages development/maintenance of local subchapters for local activities. Continuing Education Credits usually include CRC, LPC, CVE, and CEU’s for Social Work.
TRA History
The Texas Rehabilitation Association (TRA) is a state chapter of the National Rehabilitation Association (NRA). NRA was founded in 1925, with TRA founded in Texas in 1951. When you join TRA through our national association (NRA), your dues include national, regional, state, and local membership. There are 3 membership categories: Professional Member, Organization, and Student.
